Privacy & cookie policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you contact Timber Touch Bespoke Builds or browse this website. It is written in plain English, because it should be readable.

Who we are

Timber Touch Bespoke Builds is a bespoke carpentry and interiors business run by Chris, based in Swindon and working across Swindon & surrounding areas. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the “data controller” for the information described in this policy.

You can reach us at timbertouchbespokebuilds@outlook.com or on 07868 632454.

What this website collects

This website has no contact form and no sign-up. It does not ask you for your name, address or any other personal detail. Every contact button on the site simply opens your own phone app, email app or WhatsApp — nothing is submitted to us through the website itself.

We only hold personal information when you choose to send it to us — by calling, emailing, messaging on WhatsApp, or contacting us through Facebook or Instagram.

Information you send us directly

When you get in touch about a project, we typically hold your name, phone number or email address, your property address if a site visit or quote is needed, and the details of the work you are asking about — including any photographs you send us.

We use this only to reply to you, prepare a quote, plan and carry out the work, and keep the normal business records that follow from it. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

In legal terms, our basis for this is your legitimate interest in getting a reply and a quote, and performance of a contract once you go ahead with work. Records connected with completed work may also be kept to meet our legal and tax obligations.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept only as long as they are useful, and then deleted. Records relating to completed work — invoices and related paperwork — are kept for at least six years, as UK tax rules require.

Who else sees it

We do not share your details with anyone for marketing. Your information may pass through the services we use to run the business — for example our email provider, or WhatsApp if that is how you contacted us — and it may be shared with our accountant or with authorities where the law requires it.

If a job needs another trade — for example an electrician or plumber — we will only pass on what they need to do that work, and we will tell you.

Cookies and browser storage

This website does not use cookies. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts following you around.

The site stores one small item in your browser’s session storage: a note that you have already seen the opening logo animation, so it does not replay every time you move around the site. It contains no personal information, never leaves your device, and is erased automatically when you close the tab.

Because nothing here tracks you, there is no cookie consent banner — under the UK’s PECR rules, none is required for storage that is purely functional like this. The typefaces used on the site are served from this website rather than from a third party, so browsing does not expose you to an external font provider.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, their servers automatically log technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose faults. We do not use these logs to identify visitors.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, or object to how we are using it. Just get in touch and we will sort it out — there is no charge, and we will respond within one month.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example if we add a contact form or start using analytics — we will update this page and change the date at the top.
